Another successful year of providing Thanksgiving baskets with all of the fixings for a great meal. Our Jr. Interact Club sponsors our Canned Food Drive and then purchases the remaining items. We are grateful to our local AMVETS who donated 10 frozen turkeys for our baskets. We are so thankful for the opportunity to help our own Cedar Families. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Mrs. Hill's class had fun during their pumpkin pressure test experiment. Students were able to capture the idea of building tension with rubber bands until the pumpkin "exploded" due to the pressure.

Cedar Fam, our CMS Club Fair event will be next week on November 22nd in the CMS Open Field. Students are encouraged to bring cash for ticket and game purchases. Kids can purchase tickets at lunch for $1 a ticket. One ticket per game. Students who have a GPA of 3.0 or above at quarter, will receive 1-2 free tickets.
Every year Mrs. Allsman has her language arts classes learn about Veterans and their value to our country. They then are able to write letters of appreciation, and the letters get distributed throughout the community. For the last 11 years, Mrs. Allsman has chosen 3 students who write outstanding letters to be invited to read them during the City of Hesperia Veterans Ceremony at Hespera Lake. This year we had Faith Camacho, James (Isaac) Martinez, and Nicole Castaneda Ochoa participate. In addition, some of our students will have their letters read on a local radio station (Talk 960, HD 96.3, Y102, and Kat Country 100.7) today and tomorrow sometime between 3pm-8pm. This was made possible by El Dorado Broadcasting, and the following local businesses who sponsored the letters.

In honor of World Kindness Day, students were invited to the Wellness Center to play Kindness Bingo during their lunch! Thank you to our Peer Wellness Advocates who helped facilitate the game. We had a great turn out.

California Department of Public Health (CDPH) will be hosting a Vaccination event on: Friday, November 15th, 2024 and Friday, January 31st, 2025 from 3pm-6pm at the Hesperia Unified School District. Note: This event is not organized or implemented by HUSD.
Huge congratulations to Cedar Wrestling for an incredible 2nd place finish at the league finals! The team gave it their all this season, and their dedication truly paid off. A special shoutout to Maximus Fregoso, James "Issac" Martinez, Ethan Williams, Sergio Nabor, Daniel Nabor, and Terrance "Titan" Hinton for dominating their weight classes and securing 1st place finishes! Big props also go to Wade Russo, Rudy Esparza, and Xavier Gaona for earning impressive 2nd place finishes! What an amazing season of hard work, grit, and outstanding performances from all of our wrestlers!
Congratulations to the girls team for placing 1st at league finals and bringing home the banner. Kaydance Manjarrez placed 1st, Eloise Chavez placed 2nd, Belen Gonzalez placed 6th and Charlotte Smith placed 9th all receiving individual medals. Boys placed seven as a team and Jacob Jimenez and Mason Hernandez medaled individually in their varsity race. Shout out to JV girls Ava Melton placing 3rd and Valerie Alberts placing 6th. Last but certainly not least a huge congratulations to Alyssa Rodriquez for coming in 1st, Melanie Chavez for placing 2nd and Jazmine Gonzalez for placing 5th in the desert race. Awesome job cross country!

CMS families! Our Interact Club is holding a Thanksgiving food drive for families in need. They will be accepting canned food donations starting 11/6-11/19. You can find a list of items needed on this flyer. You can drop off your donations with our front desk during office hours or your student's first period class. Your help is needed and would be greatly appreciated.
